The Dream Destination

he Place Where Dreams Come True People often
fall easily into the notion that theme parks take your imagination to a
different place in time. When Disney Land was built, it was meant to be a place
for the young and the old alike. A place that promises dreams comes true. They
sell the American public and those abode with the sole guarantee of being “The
funniest place on Earth.” Never have I ever been so wrong about looking into
smoking mirrors, until I first-handedly got the reality of what Disney Land was
behind the curtains. From that moment on, my life perspective changed forever,
like a lost innocents. It was a cool, crisp, summer morning. The whole family
was in anticipation for what was to come. Every summer, like clock work, Dad
would dip into his savings and take a family vacation. A special time for Dad
to show us the importance of a family unit. Although I was only six at the
time, I can still remember every vacation, like it was yesterday. The careful
preparations were all in order. Right down to the last call for a bathroom
break. We loaded up the car and were off to the great destination to Disney
Land. Being at vulnerable age, my mind was filled with visions of finally
meeting Mickey mouse and all of his friends, after all I was going to the
greatest place on earth. He was going to be so surprised when I tell him all
about coming to see him. It was as if I had a personal bond, and he was
expecting my arrival. It seemed like eternity, the whole car ride there, over
eight long hours in the car. We were tired and exhausted. My father android
that entire he could handle for one day. My parents got a motel room, two
blocks down from the theme park. I could see the bright lights in the distance.
Antisapation was plaguing everyone including me. The next day, I beat the sun
rising. All that I had dreamt of was going to finally come true. It was the day
that I was going to meet Mickey Mouse in real.
